"The Ultimate Goal for the Dream Tour Series "

Clark Takashima's ultimate goal is to bring the natural connection between fine art and surfing to the world, while simultaneously helping our environment. A Hawaii born artist, Clark has been painting amazing surf art for over 20 years. His latest works, "The Dream Tour Series" are original acrylic paintings on panel, 24" x 48", feature the 11 locations around the globe the ASP world tour compete at each year. These paintings raise awareness to our precious resources, the waves and the pristine surf beaches are held in their irreplaceable majesty.

Our goal is to create an unique fine art business that revolves around the ASP world tour and its affiliated sponsors. We believe that Clark's series of paintings could set precedence for an ongoing annual affair. We would like to reproduce these images into fine art prints, posters and calendars  With the sale of these high quality souvenirs, we would offer a percentage to a few worthy causes that work on saving our environment. We have had the pleasure of meeting Frank Scura, Executive Director of the Action Sports Environmental Coalition. He and his band of action sports heroes are swiftly becoming heroes of the environment.  We donated "Kalani Deep" an original painting that will hopefully garner them additional funding for their cause (see asecaction.org).  We are also helping Keep the North Shore Country with an original that they'll reproduce to help their cause. Finally, we are helping Jeannie Chesser with her medical  costs as she fights a rare cancer. There are so many causes at so many levels that we want to get involved with, all are worthy.

Reproducing these wonderful works of art and promoting them would in turn afford us to establish annual art events revolving around the tour. We would seek out local talent from each location and host art shows. Hosting such events would promote the artists, the surfers, the beach community, the organizers, and sponsors alike. Another opportunity is an "official" online surf art gallery, offering originals, fine art prints, event posters, photography, and sculpture-providing only the highest quality memorabilia to spectators, surfers, corporate and industry personnel, existing and potential-as the sport of surfing grows.

In order for this venture to become a reality, we will of course, need the A.S.P.'s authorization to attach their logo to the posters and calendars. Secondly, we would require sponsorship and or financial assistance in production. We believe these works will strongly promote the ASP World tour's mission, the sport of surfing, and its healthy lifestyle. By having a fine art product, the ASP might attract more non-surf industry related corporate sponsorships thus, taking it "off the wave face and into the air".

We realize all the hard work the ASP and the surfing industry at large have put into bringing the sport of professional surfing into the world stage. Less we not forget- the film industry. With the tour as a vehicle, we would be honored to share in shinning a spotlight on the fragile and most unique playing fields in all of professional sports.

Our dream is to inspire people through art and offer creative solutions to encourage  environmental awareness into action. By sharing the art of the art of surfing and its healthy lifestyles, more artists and business communities all around the world might be inspired to get involved in preserving our precious environment- home.
