Actions for Our Environment
We introduced my latest series of paintings to the North Shore of Oahu during the Triple Crown of Surfing season and on through Spring with many showings beginning with a show at Iwa Gallery, the "Oldest gallery in Hale'iwa town" situated next to the famous Aoki Shave Ice Store, the gallery overflowed with guests who enjoyed complimentary wine and food during the event. Second, was the Trilogy movie screening at Waimea Falls Audubon Center. Then a series of dinners with ASEC at a house on Kawela Bay. Next was the Lifeguard/ Occy's retirement party again at Waimea Falls. And last but far from least, the honor of showing at Mick and professional surfer Jamie O'Brien's place on Pipeline. The O'Briens are fully helpful when it comes to showing my work during all the Pipeline events. They have supported local artists like Alfred Cababag with sharing the spotlight in their home. Thank You for all who allowed us to share my artwork with surfing's elite and industry folk alike in the "Prime time of Hawaii surfing winter 07/08". Even though the real waves came after you all left...We have been overwhelmed by all the compliments and well wishers. It meant so much to hear it from the most qualified of critiques! To all who complimented and bought my work,Aloha! We were on a mission to find a few worthy causes to get involved with bringing attention to the environment, and how we can use my art to do so. We were in luck!

I have painted waves for as long as I've been a surfer, virtually every piece I create is in honor and awe of the Ocean, Land and skies that surround me in Hawaii, I wanted to do this in the impressionist style, as if Monet, John Singer Sargent, or Maxfield Parrish was to paint surf. With this in mind, Clark has met a few of today's masters of surf art, with the likes of Phil Roberts, Ken Auster, and Tony Spineto, he aspires to doing artwork on this level of professionalism and popularity. Check out the following pages and see a sample of what Clark has created through this influence.

Since 1999, the first mural at Pipeline Cafe', has led my career into the public, with many restaurants, nightclubs, storefronts, and private residences. Pictured is "Da Hui Store". While creating these murals, I have been asked to paint a variety of subject matter, from Italian motifs to Japanese and of course Hawaiian. There is no subject that escapes the imagination!
Clark has been trained in hand-building at Leeward Community College for several years and have been selected for a few showings, including one at Honolulu Hale, City Hall. His 3-D works have helped him explore light, values, shapes, and texture. It translates his understanding of these foundational skills between his 2 and 3-D works. " I have done a series of whales and dolphins, surfing moves, and abstract women. Waves, women, and whales! We all love em!"
